The following tables are the rosters of railroad cars, moved by the SMR motive power, and owned by SMRC. The tables provide some detail concerning each item in the roster. Trains are fundamentally built to haul things. The following tables divide our railroad cars into three categories: freight, passenger and utility cars. Each of these categories is further subdivided as needed.
Freight Car Roster
This roster is subdivided into eight main types of freight car: Flat (includes staked and centerbeam), Box (includes refrigerated, livestock and other specialty box cars), Gondola (open or covered), Hopper (open or covered; two or three bay), Tank (riveted and welded) and Intermodal (Piggyback). Each type is illustrated, but the roster is presented in tabular form.
