The Shannondell Model Railroad was built and is maintained, improved and operated by residents of Shannondell at Valley Forge, a gated retirement community located in Audubon, Pennsylvania. Please go to Visiting the Layout for details.

Vince Hauser, a Shannondell resident, gave this locomotive (a brass HO model) to the Club and Leon Butler (SMR Vice President) restored it to operational condition. It is a model of a New York Central T-1b electric locomotive. Co-built by ALCO and GE from 1913-1926, the T-motors included T-1a: 1, T-1b: 9, T-2a: 6, T-2b: 10 and T-3a: 10 for a total of 36 locomotives. T-motors were used for both passenger and freight service. These locos were mounted on four 2-axle trucks. All axles were powered by GE 91-A 380 hp traction motors directly mounted on the axles. Thus, the CIC wheel configuration is Bo'Bo+BoBo'. Power pick-up was from a 3rd rail carrying 660 V DC, so these locos were limited to 3rd-rail territory. Only one T-Motor, No. 278, remains at Danbury Railway Museum, Danbury, CT.
